Cared For vs. Treated – Crystal Lake
Cared For vs. Treated - Crystal Lake
Would you rather be treated? Or cared for? We don’t “treat”, we do care for. We don’t provide “treatments”, but we will provide adjustments at Crystal Lake Family Wellness (something we take great pride in the continual study and improvement of our craft). This might seem like a small or silly distinction, but when one thinks about the differences between these perspectives they become not so silly. We care for everyone who walks in our doors because we believe health is innately within all of us and our mission is to provide a place where that expression can be realized, and because a treatment implies that person is seen primarily as their condition.
A wonderful benefit of caring for a person is their body tends to respond by healing and increased vitality. The human body thrives when we remove obstacles and give it what it needs.
Another distinction between the two perspectives: caring for someone is done regardless of symptoms; it is a lifestyle and is proactive. Chiropractic care is a necessity for all because the body is designed to move, and adjustments provide healthy movement through the spine. Treatment is done reactively, once symptoms are present. We always encourage our patients to consider that health is the most valuable asset any of us possess, and to protect and nourish it. “Build health, not simply manage disease.”
